From the Treehouse
Welcome to the very first issue of the Zoogle Wild Bulletin! Every issue brings you true animal stories from the Turtle Pond Collection, a wildlife camera worth watching, a game to play, and one small thing your family can do for conservation this month.
Creature Feature: The Bears of Brooks Falls
Right now, in Katmai National Park, Alaska, brown bears are standing at the top of Brooks Falls catching salmon — sometimes straight out of the air. Each summer they eat as much as they can before winter, a marathon of feasting scientists call hyperphagia.
Book Corner: Owen & Mzee, the Friendship That Started It All
More than twenty years ago, a baby hippo named Owen was rescued after a tsunami in Kenya and placed in a sanctuary at Haller Park — where he chose a 130-year-old giant tortoise named Mzee as his new best friend. Their true story became a New York Times #1 bestseller and the heart of everything Zoogle does. Read more on the Zoogle Blog.

Save the Date: Story Time in the Wild
Zoogle Ambassador Carolina Coto is hosting a free virtual reading event for kids and families on Monday, November 1, 2027 — a live read-aloud from the Turtle Pond Collection with a family Q&A. Details and sign-up on the Events page.
One Small Wild Thing
This month's conservation mission for kids: put out a shallow dish of water with a few pebbles in it. On hot days it becomes a life-saving drinking spot for birds, bees, and butterflies in your neighborhood.
